About

Mary has been an artist all her life. Whether it is cooking, dancing, singing, sewing, painting or writing, Mary finds meaning and joy in the act of creating. She understands the benefits of a life with play and creativity. Wanting to expand her skills, she received a BA in Art from Humboldt State University.

After college Mary went to work as a computer programmer but always kept one hand in her art. Mary has participated in various group and solo shows in Southern California and Oregon. She co-produced Art and Environment Day, a community event, where local artists and sustainability advocates shared their passions with the public.

From 2006-2008 she was an active board member and President of ArtNow, a non-profit with a mission to support community participation in the Arts. ArtNow produced many community-based projects, such as the wildly successful Trashion Show at the Earth Day Celebration and the ArtCars entry in the 4th of July Parade in Ashland, Oregon.

Mary is trained and certified as a creativity coach with the Creativity Coaching Association. She has recently published a book on creativity, Inspiration is Only the Spark: Keeping the Creative Flame Burning.

Mary is currently living in Talent, Oregon where she continues to spend time in her studio, writing and coaching clients on creativity.
