What is Creativity Coaching?
Creativity Coaching differs from life coaching in that it addresses the specific challenges and needs of artists and creative people. This is a relatively new field and Mary is excited to support artists and non-artists in developing and maintaining a creative practice that helps them attain their creative goals. Is Creativity Coaching for you?
- Looking to be more focused in your art and creative practice?
- Do you long to spend more time in your studio than surfing the internet?
- Have you no formal training in art or music but feel the call to do creative work?
- Do you want to take your art to the next level but need support to move forward?
If you answered YES! to any of these questions, you are ready for creativity coaching.
About Mary
Mary has been an artist all her life. Whether it is cooking, dancing, singing, sewing, painting or writing, Mary finds meaning and joy in the act of creating. She understands the benefits of a life with play and creativity.
Over the years Mary has developed the unique skills from working in two different worlds (the artistic and corporate). Her organizational, artistic, observational and communication skills are powerful tools, providing insights and helpful suggestions to her clients. A creative thinker, Mary works with clients to come up with innovative ideas and solutions to what is blocking them.
How her services work
New clients are emailed a simple intake questionnaire to give a sense of where you are at in your creative process. Mary will exchange a few emails, then will setup an hour session on the phone. After that, Mary supports her client with emails in between their phone meetings. Mary offers a number of packages that can fit your schedule and budget.
Free trial session
Mary offers one free 50 minute coaching session to new clients. Contact her to setup your free creativity coaching session.

Testimonials
“Mary Theis’s creative coaching skills have inspired, encouraged and freed me. As an artist herself she brings the understanding and insight of artistic pitfalls to the process. Because of Mary’s coaching I have resurrected myself as the artist I am. I would highly recommend her to anyone wanting to get in touch with their own creativity.” Maureen Cox, Fiber Artist and owner, Chef Mo
“I have been much more productive in the past year thanks to her cheering from the side lines, or helping see the error of my ways in getting stuck looking for perfection. I am one who needs a push. If you share this habit, contact Mary. She can help.” Robyn Thompson-Mattil
“Thank you so much for our creativity sessions. You really zeroed in on what my blocks and struggles were and outlined a very do-able step by step solution for them. … Your approach was so kind and nonjudgmental. I felt you really listened to me and gave me invaluable feedback. I am happy to report that I am now more than 50,000 words into the book I have been wanting to write for a decade, a book that I was reluctant to even start until I had creativity sessions with you. Your expertise proved to be just the help and encouragement I needed. I can not thank you enough.” LuLu Register
“Working with Mary has been a real gift. She helps me to nail down time to focus on my creative process, something I don’t do for myself and often my biggest struggle. I enjoy our scheduled check-ins and being accountable to someone else has made a huge difference in terms of what I have been able to accomplish. I like knowing in the back of my mind that she will be excitedly ready to hear what progress I have made over the week. It feels wonderful to have my artistic pursuits brought to the front burner and no longer waiting on the back. Thank you Mary for your guidance and thoughtful approach. You have helped me get excited about the creative process!” Kris C.
